Website for plumbers: price, pages and example

A website for plumbers has to catch two kinds of customer: the one with a leaking pipe right now, and the one planning a new bathroom or a heat pump. Here are the pages, the price, the rules and an example front page.

What should a website for plumbers do?

It should separate the urgent from the planned. The urgent customer wants to call straight away, while the bathroom customer wants to see photos and ask for a quote.

  • A clear emergency number, if you run a call-out service, and when it applies.
  • Your services one by one: bathrooms, heat pumps, district heating, gas boilers and sewers, depending on what the business does.
  • The business’s authorisations, plumbing, gas or sewer, and the authorisation number.
  • The call-out fee and hourly rate including VAT.
  • A form where the customer describes the problem and says whether it’s urgent.

Which pages does the website need?

Start with 7 pages. That’s enough for a customer to find the answer and get in touch, and you can always add more:

  1. Home: plumbing in your area, the emergency number and the main services.
  2. Emergency plumbing: call-out hours, the call-out fee, and what the customer can do while they wait, such as turning off the main stopcock.
  3. Bathrooms: the process, examples and photos of finished bathrooms.
  4. Heating: heat pumps, district heating and boiler servicing.
  5. Sewers and drains: if the business has an authorised drainage contractor (kloakmester).
  6. About: authorisations, staff and memberships.
  7. Contact: phone, emergency number, form and the towns you cover.

How much does a website for plumbers cost?

A website for plumbers typically costs DKK 14,000–35,000 to have made by a freelancer and DKK 40,000–102,000 by a web agency, excluding VAT. Running costs come on top every year. Over three years, that adds up to DKK 28,000–82,000 with a freelancer and DKK 67,000–204,000 with an agency. Build it yourself in Striive and there’s no build fee: three years cost DKK 5,500–7,500.

All amounts exclude VAT and come from our website cost calculator, built on Danish hourly rates: about DKK 500–900 an hour for freelancers and DKK 900–1,400 for agencies. Running costs are hosting, a domain, licences and a service agreement. Striive is DKK 99 a month incl. VAT for the first 4 months, then DKK 249 a month incl. VAT, plus your domain.

Many plumbing businesses have the agency write the copy because they don’t have the time. For seven pages, that costs DKK 14,000–32,000 extra with an agency and DKK 7,000–17,500 with a freelancer, excl. VAT. You know your services better than any copywriter: jot down notes about each service, and let AI turn them into finished paragraphs.

What do customers search for when they need a plumber?

Customers type what they need and where they live. Typical searches (in Danish, as they’re typed):

  • vvs [town]
  • vvs akut [town]
  • blikkenslager [town]
  • nyt badeværelse pris [town]
  • varmepumpe installation [town]
  • stoppet afløb [town]

Use the same words on your pages: the trade, the services and the towns and areas you cover. Give each page a title and a description that say it, and check how it looks in Google with our Google preview. More in how to get found on Google.

What makes customers choose you?

Trust. The customer doesn’t know you yet, so the website has to show you’re good at what you do:

  • The authorisation number, so customers can look the business up with the Danish Safety Technology Authority themselves.
  • Photos of bathrooms you’ve done, from several angles.
  • A fixed call-out fee, so the urgent customer knows what it costs to get you out.
  • Reviews that mention how quickly you came.
  • Which brands of heat pumps and boilers you install and service.

What rules apply to a website for plumbers?

The same as for every business, and a few for your trade. Every business must show its name, address, email and CVR number on its website (Danish E-commerce Act §7), have a privacy notice when it collects personal data through, say, a contact form, and get consent with a cookie banner before setting cookies for analytics or marketing. Prices for consumers must include VAT. The full list is in website requirements for businesses.

  • Work on gas, water and drainage installations requires authorisation from the Danish Safety Technology Authority (Sikkerhedsstyrelsen). Say which authorisations the business holds, with the number. Check the exact rules with Sikkerhedsstyrelsen.
  • Sewer work may only be done by an authorised drainage contractor (autoriseret kloakmester). If you offer it, say who in the business holds the authorisation, or who you work with.
  • If you write about grants or deductions for, say, heat pumps, point to the official sources, such as skat.dk. The schemes change, and an old amount on your website makes for disappointed customers.

What could the front page look like?

Here’s how the top of the front page could read. The headline says what you do and where; the text under it says why to pick you and what to do next:

“Plumber in Randers. Emergency help on weekdays until 10 pm.”

Bathrooms, heat pumps and boiler servicing for homeowners and housing associations. If it’s urgent, call 12 34 56 78. If it’s a new bathroom, tell us what you have in mind, and you’ll get a quote.

How do you make a website for plumbers with Striive?

You build it yourself, with AI to help. Plan on 10–20 hours for a site like this:

  1. Tell Striive about your business: what you do, where, and how customers reach you. Have an old website? Type its address, and Striive builds from it.
  2. The AI website builder builds your front page and up to four more pages, with text about what you actually do.
  3. Edit texts, prices and photos right on the page in the visual editor, or tell the AI assistant what to change.
  4. Add a contact form, so enquiries land in your inbox.
  5. Connect your own domain, check the site on your phone, and publish.

Which mistakes should you avoid?

These turn up again and again on websites for plumbers:

  • The emergency number is the same as the normal one, with no word on when someone answers.
  • Heat pumps get half a sentence, even though that’s where the big jobs are.
  • Nothing about the call-out fee, so the customer calls whoever does mention it.
  • The authorisation is only in small print at the bottom, without a number.
  • The bathroom photos come from the manufacturer’s catalogue.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The urgent customer calls whoever says what it costs to get someone out. Show the call-out fee and the hourly rate including VAT, and whether the price is higher outside normal working hours.

Yes, if the business has an authorised drainage contractor. Sewers and drains are a search of their own, and the customer needs to see that you’re allowed to do the work. If you don’t hold the authorisation, say who you work with.

Yourself in Striive: about 10–20 hours, spread over a couple of days, if your texts and photos are ready. With a freelancer or an agency, plan on 2–6 weeks, because design, texts and corrections go back and forth.

Yes. In Striive you edit texts, prices and photos right on the page, or tell the AI assistant what to change. You don’t pay a web designer for every change.
