Reusable sections for your website. Edit once, and every page follows.

A reusable section is a piece of your website, such as a header, a price card or a “book a table” banner, that you build once and use on as many pages as you like. Change it in one place, and every page that uses it follows.

New phone number. Six pages. You updated four.

Copying the same block onto every page is quick the first time. Then the opening hours change, or the offer ends, and you have to remember every page it’s on. Miss one, and a customer calls the old number.

What is a reusable section?

In Striive, a reusable section is called a component. It isn’t a copy: every page that uses it points to the same original. That’s the difference from copy and paste: when the original changes, every page changes with it.

How to make a reusable section

  1. Select a section you’ve already built on a page: a banner, a card, a contact box.
  2. Choose “Componentize” from the right-click menu or the properties panel, and give it a name.
  3. The section becomes a component, and the page now uses it. The component opens so you can keep editing it.
  4. Decide what may differ from page to page: a heading, a text, an image, a link, a colour or a choice from a list. You can also leave open spaces where each page adds its own content.
  5. Drag the component onto any other page from the insert menu, and fill in its fields there.

Edit once. Every copy follows.

Open the component and change it. Every page that uses it shows the change the next time you publish, so your “summer offer” banner is gone from every page in one edit.

Components can contain other components, such as a price card inside a price table. Before you delete a component, Striive shows every page and component that still uses it.

Component or saved layout?

Sometimes you want a starting point, not a link. Right-click a section and save it as a layout, and you can insert a fresh copy of it later that you change freely. Use a component when every copy must stay the same; use a saved layout when each copy should go its own way.

What it doesn’t do

Striive has no gallery of ready-made templates. You build your own sections and reuse them. Changes to a component reach your live site when you publish, not before. And a component can’t contain itself.

Frequently asked questions

Not a template gallery. You build your own sections and reuse them. One-click design styles for a whole site are on our roadmap.

Yes, if you set it up that way. A reusable card can take its own heading, text and image on each page while the design stays the same.

Put them in a template for every page. Each page’s own content flows into the template, so you edit the header and footer in one place.

Striive first shows every page and component that still uses it, so you can decide whether to keep it.

The page a visitor sees when they follow a link to a page that doesn’t exist. Your own 404 page keeps them on your site instead of showing a bare error.
