A contact form for your website. Enquiries in, spam out.
Build a contact form for your website right in the editor. Enquiries are saved in your Striive admin, spam is filtered out, and your site’s admins can get an email whenever a new one arrives.
Enquiries get lost. The spam doesn’t.
A “write to us” form sounds simple. Until the inbox fills with junk, a real customer’s message lands in the spam filter, or the form stops working after an update. Some give up and just put their email address on the page, and get even more spam.
Why a contact form instead of an email address?
An email address on a page is quickly picked up by robots that collect addresses for spam. A form keeps your address hidden and gives customers an easy way to get in touch, from their phone, too.
A form also lets you decide what the customer should tell you. You get the phone number and the service they want the first time, instead of emailing back and forth.
How to make a contact form in Striive
From empty page to working form:
- Insert a form from the block picker in the editor.
- Add the fields: name, email, phone, message, a dropdown, checkboxes or radio buttons. Each field is an ordinary block you can move and style.
- Choose where enquiries are saved, or let Striive create a new place based on the fields in your form.
- Write the message customers see when the form is sent, and the one they see if something goes wrong.
- Turn on email notices if the site’s admins should get an email for each new enquiry.
- Publish the page. The form works straight away.
Spam protection, built in
No captcha to set up, and your customers never click on traffic lights. Forms have several layers of protection running in the background:
- A hidden field people don’t see, but robots fill in.
- A time check that rejects forms sent faster than a person could fill them in.
- A one-time key from your page, so the form can’t be sent from outside your website.
- A limit on how many enquiries can be sent from the same address in a short time.
- Field checks: required fields, a valid email address and numbers where numbers belong.
Where do enquiries end up?
Every enquiry is saved in your Striive admin, where you and your colleagues can read it. Nothing is lost if an email goes astray.
With email notices on, each of the site’s admins gets their own email. It shows your site’s name as the sender and says which form was filled in, when, with a link straight to the enquiry. The message itself isn’t in the email. That’s deliberate: your customer’s personal details stay in Striive, hosted in the EU, instead of travelling around in emails.
What forms don’t do
Good to know before you rely on them:
- The email doesn’t include the message. You read it in your admin.
- There’s no automatic confirmation email to the customer.
- Notices go to the site’s admins, not to any email address you choose.
- If more than 60 notices would go out in an hour, emails pause, but every enquiry is still saved.
Frequently asked questions
In Striive, insert a form block in the editor, add the fields you need, choose where enquiries are saved and publish. Spam protection is already built in.
No. The email tells you someone has filled in the form and links to it. You read the enquiry itself in your Striive admin.
Every admin on the site gets their own email, as long as email notices are switched on for that form.
No. Protection against spam and abuse is built into Striive’s forms and runs without the customer noticing.
Yes. Put different forms on different pages: a general contact form, a quote request, a catering enquiry.
Yes, for the technically minded. A form can be set to send to an external address instead of Striive. Then that system handles storage and spam.
