A website with a blog and CMS. Change it once, and it’s right everywhere.
Striive has a blog and a CMS built into your website. Write blog posts, and keep things like your team, services or menu as content you edit in one place. Striive puts it on your pages for you.
Same change. Five pages.
Your prices changed, a new colleague started, this week’s lunch menu is different. On many simple sites, that means finding every page with the old text and editing them one by one. And missing one.
Want a blog as well? That’s often a separate tool with its own look.
What is a CMS?
CMS stands for content management system: a system for managing the content on a website. Text, posts, images and lists are stored on their own, separate from the page design.
The benefit: you change the content in one place, and every page that shows it is updated when you publish.
In Striive, the CMS is part of your website. There’s no separate system to log in to.
How to write a blog post in Striive
Writing a post feels like writing a document:
- Open the content area in your admin and create a new post.
- Write the title and text. Type / to insert headings, lists, quotes, tables, images or video.
- Switch to live view to see the post in your site’s design, and keep editing right there.
- Fill in the SEO title, meta description, address and featured image in the panel alongside.
- Publish straight away, or schedule when it should go live.
Your own content types
Make a collection for anything your business keeps a list of: team members with photo and title, services with price and duration, dishes on a menu, projects in a portfolio. You choose the fields: text, numbers, images, lists and links to other entries.
All entries appear in a spreadsheet-like overview with search, filters and sorting. Click an entry, and edit it in the panel beside it.
Lists that fill your pages
Place a list on a page, design one item, and Striive repeats it for every entry in the collection. Add a new team member, and they appear on the About page and everywhere else the list is used, as soon as you publish. Long lists can be split across several pages.
One template for every post
Design how a post should look once, with the title, image and text in fixed places. Every post in the collection uses that template, and when you change it, they all change.
What visitors see, and what they don’t
Content only appears on your website once it’s published. Drafts and scheduled posts are visible only in your admin, so you can write on Monday and go live on Thursday.
