Website for cleaning companies: price, pages and example
A website for cleaning companies has to say whether you clean homes, businesses or both, what it costs, and how soon you can start. Here are the pages, the price, the rules and an example front page.
What should a website for cleaning companies do?
It should make customers feel safe letting you in. Cleaning happens in people’s homes and workplaces, often when they aren’t there.
- Homes and businesses as two separate pages, because the two kinds of customer ask about different things.
- Prices or price ranges: per hour, per visit or by the size of the home.
- How you handle keys and alarm codes, and that staff keep things confidential, if they do.
- Whether you bring your own cleaning products and equipment.
- A form where the customer gives the size of the home and how often they want cleaning.
Which pages does the website need?
Start with 6 pages. That’s enough for a customer to find the answer and get in touch, and you can always add more:
- Home: cleaning in your area, homes and businesses, and how to get started.
- Home cleaning: regular cleaning, deep cleaning and prices.
- Commercial cleaning: offices, clinics and stairwells.
- Move-out cleaning: a fixed price by the size of the home, and what’s included.
- About: staff, insurance, and how you keep the quality up.
- Contact: a form with the size of the home, phone and the towns you clean in.
How much does a website for cleaning companies cost?
A website for cleaning companies typically costs DKK 13,000–33,000 to have made by a freelancer and DKK 37,000–96,000 by a web agency, excluding VAT. Running costs come on top every year. Over three years, that adds up to DKK 27,000–79,000 with a freelancer and DKK 64,000–198,000 with an agency. Build it yourself in Striive and there’s no build fee: three years cost DKK 5,500–7,500.
| Freelancer | Web agency | Striive (you build it) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Build | DKK 13,000–33,000 | DKK 37,000–96,000 | No build fee |
| Running per year, from year 2 | DKK 4,500–15,500 | DKK 9,000–34,000 | DKK 2,000–3,000 |
| First year in total | DKK 17,000–48,000 | DKK 46,000–130,000 | DKK 1,500–2,500 |
| Three years in total | DKK 27,000–79,000 | DKK 64,000–198,000 | DKK 5,500–7,500 |
All amounts exclude VAT and come from our website cost calculator, built on Danish hourly rates: about DKK 500–900 an hour for freelancers and DKK 900–1,400 for agencies. Running costs are hosting, a domain, licences and a service agreement. Striive is DKK 99 a month incl. VAT for the first 4 months, then DKK 249 a month incl. VAT, plus your domain.
For a cleaning company, it isn’t the number of pages that makes a website expensive. With a freelancer, the base price is DKK 12,000–30,000 excl. VAT for five pages, and a sixth page adds only DKK 1,000–2,500. You pay for the build however small the site is. In Striive there’s no build fee, so the small website is also the cheap one.
What do customers search for when they need a cleaning company?
Customers type what they need and where they live. Typical searches (in Danish, as they’re typed):
- rengøringsfirma [town]
- rengøringshjælp [town]
- flytterengøring pris [town]
- erhvervsrengøring [town]
- trappevask [town]
- hovedrengøring pris
Use the same words on your pages: the trade, the services and the towns and areas you cover. Give each page a title and a description that say it, and check how it looks in Google with our Google preview. More in how to get found on Google.
What makes customers choose you?
Trust. The customer doesn’t know you yet, so the website has to show you’re good at what you do:
- Photos of your staff, with first names if they’re happy to.
- Insurance, so the customer knows what happens if something breaks.
- That the same people come every time, if that’s how you work.
- What you do if the customer isn’t happy, such as coming back to redo it.
- Reviews from both homeowners and business customers.
What rules apply to a website for cleaning companies?
The same as for every business, and a few for your trade. Every business must show its name, address, email and CVR number on its website (Danish E-commerce Act §7), have a privacy notice when it collects personal data through, say, a contact form, and get consent with a cookie banner before setting cookies for analytics or marketing. Prices for consumers must include VAT. The full list is in website requirements for businesses.
- Cleaning in private homes has been covered by the household services deduction (servicefradrag). The rules and amounts change, so point to skat.dk rather than writing amounts.
- Prices for consumers must include VAT. If you show business prices excluding VAT, say clearly which prices are which.
What could the front page look like?
Here’s how the top of the front page could read. The headline says what you do and where; the text under it says why to pick you and what to do next:
“Cleaning in Odense for homes and businesses. The same cleaner every time.”
We clean homes, offices and stairwells across Odense Municipality. Tell us the size of your home and how often you want help, and you’ll get a fixed price within a day.
How do you make a website for cleaning companies with Striive?
You build it yourself, with AI to help. Plan on 9–18 hours for a site like this:
- Tell Striive about your business: what you do, where, and how customers reach you. Have an old website? Type its address, and Striive builds from it.
- The AI website builder builds your front page and up to four more pages, with text about what you actually do.
- Edit texts, prices and photos right on the page in the visual editor, or tell the AI assistant what to change.
- Add a contact form, so enquiries land in your inbox.
- Connect your own domain, check the site on your phone, and publish.
Which mistakes should you avoid?
These turn up again and again on websites for cleaning companies:
- Homes and businesses are mixed together, so neither feels spoken to.
- There are no prices, even though cleaning is something customers compare on price.
- Move-out cleaning isn’t mentioned, even though customers often need it at short notice.
- Stock photos of smiling people in rubber gloves.
- The form doesn’t ask for the size of the home, so your first reply is always a question.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, at least a range. Customers compare, and an hourly rate or a move-out cleaning price by the size of the home makes it easier to choose you. Prices for consumers must include VAT, and our VAT calculator does the sums for you.
Yes, if you want them. Business customers ask about different things than homeowners: regular contracts, quality checks, keys and invoicing. With a page of its own you can speak directly to them and be found for “erhvervsrengøring [town]”.
Yourself in Striive: about 9–18 hours, spread over a couple of days, if your texts and photos are ready. With a freelancer or an agency, plan on 2–6 weeks, because design, texts and corrections go back and forth.
Yes. In Striive you edit texts, prices and photos right on the page, or tell the AI assistant what to change. You don’t pay a web designer for every change.
