Wix alternative: 8 options for Danish businesses
A good alternative to Wix for a Danish business is a website builder with prices in kroner, hosting in the EU and Danish as its starting point, such as Striive. Wix’s cheapest plan with your own domain, Light, cost USD 17 a month billed a year at a time, plus taxes, when we read it on 2026-09-23. Booking and payments need Core at USD 29 a month.

What does Wix cost?
Wix costs from USD 17 a month for Light, the cheapest plan with your own domain, billed a year at a time. That’s USD 204 a year before taxes. The prices below were read on Wix’s own pricing page on 2026-09-23.
| Wix plan | Per month, billed yearly | Per year | Booking | Payments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | USD 0 | USD 0 | No | No. No domain of your own. |
| Light | USD 17 | USD 204 | No | No |
| Core | USD 29 | USD 348 | Yes | Yes; 4% fee on pricing plans |
| Business | USD 39 | USD 468 | Yes | Yes; 2% fee on pricing plans |
Wix says the prices exclude taxes, which are added according to your billing address, and that the offer only applies to the first term. Prices after the first year may therefore be higher. What a Danish customer pays in kroner including VAT, we couldn’t confirm.
Is Wix available in Danish?
Wix has a Danish version of its pricing page, but it showed the prices in US dollars when we checked on 2026-09-23. Wix is an Israeli company headquartered in Tel Aviv, and your website can’t be pinned to a region: Wix uses its own data centres in North America and Europe plus AWS, Google Cloud and Fastly.
The free domain that comes with yearly plans covers selected endings such as .com, .net and .org. .dk wasn’t on the list.
How does Wix compare with Striive?
Wix has more features today, booking and payments above all. Striive has prices in kroner, unlimited team members and more storage than Wix Light, and your website lives in the EU.
| Wix (Light / Core) | Striive | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | USD 17 / USD 29 a month, billed yearly, plus taxes | DKK 99 a month incl. VAT for the first 4 months, then DKK 249 a month incl. VAT |
| Team members | Light 2, Core 5 | Unlimited |
| Storage | Light 2 GB, Core 50 GB | 10 GB |
| Forms | Light 4, Core 10 | Yes, with a spam filter and an email for each enquiry |
| Cookie banner | Yes, via Usercentrics, basic version free | Yes, built in |
| AI | AI credits each month, no rollover | DKK 40 a month + DKK 175 at signup |
| Booking | Core and up | Planned, in the price with no add-on; paid bookings carry the 1.5% fee |
| Payments | Core and up; 4% fee on pricing plans on Core | Planned, 1.5% platform fee on top of Stripe’s own fee; refunded with the payment |
| Hosting | North America and Europe, can’t be pinned to a region | EU (Stockholm) |
| Headquarters | Israel | Denmark (Viborg) |
The Wix figures were read on 2026-09-23. “Planned” means the feature isn’t in Striive today; see online booking, online payments and the roadmap. Every builder side by side is in our comparison.
When is Wix the right choice?
Wix suits you better than Striive if you need any of these today:
- Online booking or payments right on the website, without a separate tool.
- Memberships or subscriptions you sell on the website.
- A large range of templates and apps from Wix’s own app market.
If you don’t need them, you pay for features you don’t use. A plain website for a small business with a contact form does fine without, and until booking arrives in Striive, you can link to the booking system you already have.
How do you move away from Wix?
You move away from Wix by building the new website first and moving the domain last:
- Find out where your domain was bought. If you bought it through Wix, check Wix’s help on how to transfer it or change its DNS.
- Give Striive the address of your Wix website with move your website. Striive reads the public pages, so you don’t need to export anything.
- Check texts, photos, prices and opening hours. Blog posts, a shop, member logins and booking don’t come along.
- Set up a contact form in place of the Wix forms, and check the cookie banner.
- Connect the domain with two DNS records. HTTPS is set up automatically.
- Cancel Wix once the new website is running. Wix is billed a year at a time, so time the switch close to your renewal.
